NEW CHARACTERS FROM iCONJI WORKSHOP GO LIVE!
LOVELAND, COLORADO, 16 May 2011 — Over the Sun LLC, the developer of iConji, is proud to have showcase the first, new iConji characters to come from the first "iConji Communications Workshop" hosted by Colorado State University's Office of International Programs April 7.
iConji is a non-spoken, pictographic communication system that bridges cultural barriers. Unlike SMS or email, iConji uses pictographs to represent entire words or concepts. In May of 2010, iConji was launched with a vocabulary of over 1100 pictographs. Designed to grow and expand through contributions by anyone in the world, the iConji vocabulary may include the same word or concept as many times as needed to represent multiple, unique cultural elements.
On April 7 Colorado State University's (CSU) Office of International Programs hosted an evening in which forty students and faculty representing more than a dozen countries came together for three hours. Participants were engaged in character creation, cross-cultural conversation, and a new awareness about the connections between cultural identity, artistic expression, and communication.
