Renewable Energy Production & Storage
Harnessing the Sun
With emerging advancements and rapid adoption of photovoltaic technologies, the cost/efficiency ratio is improving such that both residential and commercial installations are enjoying a higher power yield and lower overall cost. While solar electric generation is growing to become a viable source of power, the greatest hurdle remains the discrepancy between generation and consumption. The delay between time of generation and the hours of peak grid consumption invokes need for massive power storage in order to truly harness this clean energy source.

Utility-scale Storage Solutions
While solar and wind power generation are growing to become a viable source of power, the greatest hurdle remains the discrepancy between generation and consumption. Even if solar and wind were 100% reliable, the delay between time of generation and the hours of peak grid consumption invokes need for massive storage in order to harness this clean energy.Over the Sun is researching utility-scale power storage systems which when coupled with grid-tied generation and distribution work to reduce peak load consumption, enabling significant savings. Each unit supplies a typical 5-story office building with enough power to operate 'off-grid' for at least 4 hours.
